elie palima dot com got a google page rank 3!

I visited my website earlier to see what’s happening and I took a glimpse at my Google toolbar and noticed the “green stuff” and discovered..

the site just got a google PR 3 today!

you can check a site’s google pagerank by downloading and installing google toolbar on your firefox browser as an add-on (I’m not sure if it works with other browsers)

I can’t explain how happy I am right now.. anyways, Pagerank 3 with just three months of work is a Big accomplishment for me. and a great gift to start a fresh new year of 2010.

I didn’t know exactly “know” how I got the pagerank but..

here are the stuffs I did that *I think* had some effects on my page rank:

• Linked to bloggers related on my niche
• bookmarked every post I make to digg, reddit, stumbleupon, delicious..
• twitted all posts I made.
• Commented on blogs and get a link back.

John chow vs my Wishlist

yesterday I signed up for an amazon account to create my very own amazon wishlist. I got interested on creating a wishlist after watching the shoemoney system by Jeremy schoemaker which was emailed to me by john chow. the facts about making a wishlist is awesome.

what if one of the CEOs of the biggest companies saw your wishlist? well, you might be on your way of making one of your wishes come true! here’s  my wishlist by the way.

what’s included on the wishlist is an Ibanez electric guitar, zoom gx1 guitar multi effects pedal, M audio fast track pro, a cannon digital camera and a sony HD handy cam!

After making my wishlist, I got so excited and by that time I was at john chow’s blog, and there it came to my thoughts.. “what if I share my wishlist to john chow??” =D “he *might* make one of my wishes come true!!!

Suspended on ebay today

I’ve been suspended on ebay today for manipulating the feedback scores on ebay. it’s kind of sad cause I like making money online using ebay.. Just take a look how much sale I was making from december 21 up to 23 alone..

that’s right, almost 200 dollars for 3 days of work.. all my feedbacks are gone now. only 17 is left.. but the suspension will not be permanent that’s for sure.. ^_^ I got to wait for 30 days to have my account back again.

What I’m really sad about losing is not really what I am earning.. It’s the feedbacks I lost. ALL 577 of them..

anyway.. let this be a lesson to everyone that Cheating/ manipulation of the feedback scores are a big no no.. and cheaters, never win!!! (but with some exemptions.. *lol)

Here are steps you want to consider when creating an SEO friendly content and generate more passive traffic to your website.

Create a search engine friendly url

by default, wordpress URLs looks like  “www.elie-palima.com/?p=123″ . we want search engines to figure out in a snap what is your article about. to do this,

Login to your wordpress  control panel (www.example.com/wp-admin). I assume you are using wordpress by now, They are the best blogging platform out there! nwei, click on settings>>Permalinks.

then you’ll be able to see this page:

Choose “custom structure” and enter /%postname%/ exactly like whats written on the image above. this makes your link shorter and more usable/understandable.

for example, instead of your permalink being like (www.elie-palima.com/2009/12/20/sample-post) it will be “www.elie-palima.com/sample-post”.

Make your Domain name your Home page

login wour wordpress account, click on settings tab and you’ll see this page:

maybe your blog looks like this.. (www.yoursite.com/blog) if that’s the case, make your domain your home
