Update 12/31/2011: I brought the banner ads back. this time, it’s google adsense! :) will test out adsense ads this year (2012) :)

Today, is the first day I’ll ever publish a post after three months and the first day you’ll never see any banner ads on the site. (except from the one on the header which links to a blog post)

well, if you’re wondering why I removed all the banner ads here (even the advertise page), the quick answer to that is because I do not make money from them and I think they only slow down the site. :D

Ever since I’ve learned so much about WordPress and SEO, it has became one of my ‘hobbies’ to play around with google’s Keyword tool. I would often do a little keyword research for one of my minisites and blog posts. since I was bored and can’t think of anything to do, I decided to type my name on the keyword box.

to my surprise, a Result came up showing that my name “elie palima” was getting searched 70+ times globally on google every month! this is very surprising to me since I don’t expected people would be searching for “my name” *lol

What’s More interesting though is that Google says that the related keywords for “elie palima” are keywords like “blogging for profit”, “how to blog for money” and other more keywords related to blogging and money.

I don’t know why people are searching for me, but it sure feels good to be – “searched” :-D

‘the social network’ is a movie that I am certainly looking out for this 2010. it’s a story behind the most popular social media site to date – Facebook. I am a Big fan of facebook not only as a social networking site but also as how it was created as well. How facebook was founded and created is not so much of a mystery to anyone anymore since we can just go to wikipedia to learn how facebook was founded.

however, What’s very intriguing about it is the fact that How Mark Zuckerberg Created facebook. how did he handle the ‘privacy issues’ and all those sorts of stuffs. and even better – how did he manage to have 22,000 Visitors on the first hour his website was Live online for the very first time?

Mark Zuckerberg is also best known as The youngest Billionaire in the world by having a net worth of US$4 billion dollars at a very young age of 26. that’s a lot of money for a 26 year old bachelor. quite frankly, I wish he would read this post and give me atleast $1 million dollars! =D

Not Visiting the Forums

one common mistake I made when first starting out on neobux is when I just click ads, but I did not visit the forums, What happened is I did not have the knowledge that it was HARD renting referrals as a golden member. And it turned out I go golden too soon with only 20 rented referrals. It took months before I built up 100 before..

so a good advise is visit the forum regularly to see if you’re making a good decision about Renting refs, Going golden, or buying a golden pack.

Tip: ask Experienced users for advise. And if you don’t like asking, you could always use the “search function” found on the forums to find similar topic regarding yours

Going Golden too soon

one of the mistake I made way back is that I got the golden membership too soon when I had only 20 rented referrals. I would always advise to get atleast 100-300 rented refs before going golden cause it’s hard to rent as a golden member..

Not Reading the TOS

read the TOS.. trust me, it’s worth the time and after all, it’s only a short read.. so please read it. And always OBEY what’s written on it.

Not reading Neobux FAQ.

You can see neobux FAQ, when you login to your account, and take a look at the upper right corner, you’ll see a Question mark, click on it and Read it and learn more about the frequently asked questions.

Recycling too much

Not Recyling is Better than recycling too much. Recycling too much only eats up your money. I would recommend recycling 5% of your referrals daily, that means if you have 100 referrals, recycle 5-10 of them everyday. And always Recycle The Right referrals.

Quitting too Early

this is in no doubt the biggest mistake most members make. you will not succeed in anything once you quit too early.

I visited my website earlier to see what’s happening and I took a glimpse at my Google toolbar and noticed the “green stuff” and discovered..

the site just got a google PR 3 today! :P

you can check a site’s google pagerank by downloading and installing google toolbar on your firefox browser as an add-on (I’m not sure if it works with other browsers)

I can’t explain how happy I am right now.. anyways, Pagerank 3 with just three months of work is a Big accomplishment for me. and a great gift to start a fresh new year of 2010.

I didn’t know exactly “know” how I got the pagerank but..

here are the stuffs I did that *I think* had some effects on my page rank:

• Linked to bloggers related on my niche
• bookmarked every post I make to digg, reddit, stumbleupon, delicious..
• twitted all posts I made.
• Commented on blogs and get a link back.
