If you are an Internet marketer, you probably tried to guest post on other blogs to accumulate inbound links to your site. This strategy is called guest posting and it is one of the best method to increase your search engine popularity.

The rules are simple, find the best blog to guest write on, compose a compelling article, submit your article to the site owner and wait for publication approval. Once your article is accepted, it will be published as a guest post on that particular blog. A published article of course has your author bio which includes a backlink to your site. That’s how a normal guest post marketing works.

But what if your author bio and your backlinks suddenly disappear after a few weeks of publication? All your hardwork are put into waste. I have been doing guest posting for a couple of years now and I always experienced this type of issue. Why some bloggers tends to behave this way? What are the options that you can do to persuade the blog owner to reinsert your author bio and your links? Based on my experiences, I will give you some ways that could possibly help you on reinstating your guest post links.

Ways to acquire your links back to your guest post page

First off, there are different cases why blog owners tends to remove links from their guest post databse. This includes spamming activities, the blog was sold to a new owner, or the blog owner is simply unprofessional. If you know that you are correctly following all the guest post guidelines set by the blog owner, then there is no reason for your links to be removed.

So what are your options? The first thing that you can do is to contact the site owner and ask to reinstate your author bio and your links. Make sure to be polite with your message even though you are totally annoyed. Remember that you are still at the end of the stick and you have no control about the situation. A professional and respectful approach are crucial factors that can help convince the blog owner to consider your request.

Your second option is to login with the blog’s WordPress dashboard. Most blogs that are built on WordPress platform allows their guest authors to have their own guest writer accounts. If the blog that removed your links offers this option, it is better to check your WordPress dashboard first especially your profile area where your author bio information can be found. Check if the information is intact and then save your work. Refresh your guest article page and see if your author bio and links are back.

Usually, this trick will solve your problem. However, any modifications you did on your WordPress dashboard can be tracked by the site admin so your links will again be in jeopardy. Once the owner removed your links again, then it’s time to contact the blogger and ask for some explanation.

After you contact the blog owner, there is a high probability of a reply since you are considered a “blog partner”. This is your chance to have a constant communication with the site owner until he reinstates your author bio.

But this will not always be the case. Some bloggers won’t answer your email queries for days or weeks. Don’t be discourage and don’t lose hope. What you can do is to send another follow up email because your first message probably ended up in the spam folder and your message wasn’t received.

If the blog owner still never replied to your work, try to leave a comment on one of his posts to get some immediate attention. This way, the blog owner won’t have any excuses that your request wasn’t received.

These practical ways will help you to have your author bio and links back to your guest article. If the blog owner is totally ignoring you after all these methods, then ask for article withdrawal. There is no point in contributing an article to a blog site without even a simple attribution to the author. The blogger will most likely give in to your request and will delete your article. After that, you are free to submit your article to other blogs that accepts guest post.

In summary, guest posting is a very important aspect of Internet marketing. Make sure that you monitor all your published articles on other blogs to keep an eye on your back links which can protect your article investments. Remember that the best way that you can acquire back your links is through proper communications.

I’ve been busy today. Actually, I’ve been busy almost all year due to money-making reasons. but nothing has kept me busier than ever other than my new android phone. I got so much addicted to it there are also times where I would stay up all night just by playing angry birds, cut the rope and you know, all those fun apps that could be downloaded at the marketplace. =D

Before, I always use my PC to do all stuffs on the web. but now, almost 90% of the time,

1. I surf the web using my android phone
2. I watch YouTube videos using my android phone
3. I do Facebook, twitter and all those social media stuffs using my android phone
4. I read/send emails using my android phone

The list goes on but as you can see, I love my android phone. I loved the smart phone so much I decided to make a mobile version of my site so that users who are browsing my site using a mobile phone would be conveniently viewing my posts. :)

please note that I’ve not made this site’s mobile version available when using an iPad or any tablet PC. The quick answer to that is related to SEO. (I’ll be talking more about this on a later post) but I am looking forward in making it available once I’ve done proper research.

if you are using the default wordpress theme, then your site already has a mobile version pre-installed. however, if you’re using a different theme like i do, you may need to do something before you can get a mobile version of your site.

Why You Should Have a Mobile Version of your website

Just my opinion. But when I take a deeper look, having a mobile version is actually better than having the ‘PC’ version as a display (in mobile ofcourse! :D And, Visitors get to read the content a lot better which is a big plus

it loads the page faster

as a webmaster, speed is an important factor when it comes to maintaining a stable website. Having a mobile version of your website will not only make it look good; it will make your site load faster and makes browsing smoother for visitors.

There is Money in Mobile Marketing

this is probably the best reason on why you should get a mobile website and probably a developed app. according to Wikipedia, there are over 6.9 Billion people in the world and it is said that 5.6 billion of them are using mobile phones. if we do a little math, that is over 75%+ people on the world who is using a mobile phone. (this number is 4-6 times bigger than the number of Email and Facebook users)

if you would be making $1 from .01% of that market, we are talking about $6,900,000 Million Worth of income coming from mobile alone. although this article is a cool topic to talk about, This article will not cover ways on how to make money with mobile marketing.  however, I will be posting something about this on a future blog post.

For now, let’s focus on how you can Make a mobile version of your WordPress blog! =D

How To Make A Mobile Version of WordPress

first, you must have a self hosted WordPress website then, install the plugin, WPtouch. installing a plugin in WordPress is easy. just login to your dashboard, go to plugins then click “add new” after that, just go search for “wptoch” and once you see it, go straight ahead and install and activate it.

Once you have activated this plugin, you can simply visit your WordPress site and see the mobile version of it. and that’s as easy as that! :D

Make A Mobile Version of WordPress Using Wptouch

Downsides/cons in going Mobile

How To SEO a mobile site is still unknown

so far, this is the only thing that has bothered me before creating a mobile version of my site. We haven’t heard much from Google with regards to mobile SEO or on how this can affect our website’s Search engine rankings. what I do know is, as long as you redirect your site properly (like what wptouch plugin does) and set the canonical url of your website, you’ll be safe. once I get more info regarding this, I’ll let you know.

2 years ago when I was totally new to blogging, I was so desperate to learn the different ways that bloggers do to make money from their blogs. you know, the usual question of “how do they do it?” is stuck in my head. it’s funny cause if you also find yourself  in this situation (where you just started blogging) or just one of those who is interested to learn how making money by blogging works, this is the first question you’ll ask

How Do Bloggers Make Money from Blogs?

Just like TV shows, Blogs are Form of Media that could make you 10 times more money than a regular business would. to prove these claims to you, Checkout the top money making blogs in the world and see how much money they’re making each month.

1. Private Advertising sales

Private advertising sales are probably the most obvious way blogs make money. the process is very simple. the blogger creates an Advertise here page, attract potential advertisers to buy an ad-spot, and make money per each ad-spot sold. the good news is that unlike ad networks like google adsense or affiliate programs, you get 100% commission by doing this.

of course, it’s all easier said than done. you’re going to need a high number of blog traffic (visitors) to get advertisers interested. not to mention, how targeted your visitors can be.

this may not sound like the best way to make money but it sure is one of the way bloggers make some extra money. Just like the offline world, Solicitations had also become popular online all thanks to Paypal. as you surf the net, you will come across different blogs with a “donate button” installed.

There was this news article I’ve once  read on Yahoo a year ago about people who made a living and got filthy rich just by asking for online donations. (too bad I can’t find it anymore.) but the point here is – There’s good money on donations. I mean, just think about it.

whenever I think about merchandise, The first blogger that comes to my mind is Shoemoney and the shoemoney t-shirts he’s selling directly from his blog. not only he makes money from the shirts he sell, he’s also promoting his brand while doing it. – Genius! :-)

if you’re planning to get into merchandising as one of your blog’s income source, Cafepress is a good place I find online that creates cool customized products like t-shirts, home decors, accessories, etc…

7. Services

There are blogs out there like shout me loud for example who offers services on their blogs and make income out of it.

services like article writing, search engine optimization, logo creation are some of the most popular services offered by bloggers today. there are some people out there like the guys on elance.com and odesk.com for example hires freelancer and pays them $20 just by creating a Social media account. not only that these jobs are easy to do but the pay is good too.

if you have a ‘special skill’ that you can sell on the internet, you can do that inside your blog.

8. Selling Your Blog

or ‘blog flipping’ is another good way to make money from your blog. when you blog, it’s not only the monthly income that rocks but when you finally decided to Quit and sell your blog, you can make a huge amount of money! like 22 year old Johns Wu for example who sold his blog for $15 million dollars.

Do note that making money from a blog is not rocket science. making money from it is fairly easy to do and there are lots of way to do it. The most challenging part is how you’ll market it – that’s where the real money is.

The Best but unknown way to Make Money Online is by building an email list.

there are times that I would visit different internet marketing forums. through these forums I would find different threads started by Newbie bloggers looking for ways to make money from their blog.

Usually, I would often tell them something about List building. what’s surprising though is they don’t know what list building is and more often than not,  they wouldn’t know what an “autoresponder” is. and that’s basically one of the many reasons why I decided to write this post.

list building is the best way to monetize a blog. it’s a  form of internet marketing and just like blogging, it’s one of the Best marketing tool that every successful internet marketers use to make Money online. Let’s take a look at some of the Big Blogs for example.

When you go over to blogs like Johnchow.com or shoemoney.com you will be amazed at the number of advertising spots that are sold on their blogs alone. you may know Shoemoney because of his $130,000 google adsense check and John chow from his blog’s income reports. but What many people don’t know is -  these guys Makes more money From their blog’s email list.

How do I  Build an email list?

There are many methods to build an email list. but I will not talk about them right now. (I’ll talk about it on another post) but for the purpose of basic introduction, you can easily start building an email list with the help of email softwares like aweber. aweber‘s software is browser based. this means you do not need to install anything on your computer to start. another good news is the software is very affordable. for only $1, you can now start your list building campaign.

after purchasing an account, they would give you a simple Javascript which you can easily install on your blog. this code is called an opt-in code. and it’s used to install an Opt-in form which you will often see on many blogs (including mine)

How do I make money by list building?

the key to making money online specifically from a blog is to Drive a lot of traffic and then maximizing the income from that traffic. The Best way to do that is by building an email list. if you get people to sign up on your blog’s opt-in form you now have the chance to email them any time you want. this means you have the chance to:

1. Promote affiliate products to your list
2. Tell them about a product that you sell
3. Make them return to your blog which will give you more traffic and more sales
4. if you’re creative, there are many more that you could do.

of course, you won’t make money if there’s only 10 people in your list. ideally, I would say 500 people is a good amount to make a few bucks.  and if you have a low traffic blog, then chances are you won’t get people to sign up. but there’s a good technique for this which I will talk about on another blog post.

one of the best and easiest way to make money from your blog is by accepting paid reviews. the only downside of Monetezing your blog like this is it’s hard to get Review offers especially if your blog receives few or low traffic. for any problems, there is a reason. that’s why I advice you to learn “why” your site didn’t get accepted. the same also goes for other ad-networks you will come across. there will always be times that you won’t get accepted especially if your site is a low traffic one. but the most easiest way to solve this is to get in touch with them. and if it still doesn’t work out for you, There will always be other ways to monetize your site.  you just have to look. ;-)
